FIND A 'FLU FRIEND'
The advice from the Government is to find ‘flu friends’. ‘Flu friends’ are not friends with flu, but a network of people who will collect medicines, food and other supplies for you if you get swine flu, so that you don’t have to leave home. This is to help prevent the spread of flu and is explained in a leaflet that was sent to all households in Britain.
‘BUT WHERE FROM?’
Maybe you don’t know people in the area whom you can call on. You may be new to the area, or from another country, or just living far from friends or relatives.
WE’LL HELP
The congregation of St George's are offering to provide ‘flu friends’ for those in need who are living in the Parish of Wembdon. The idea is simple: if you would like a ‘flu friend’, we will pair you up with someone of the same sex from church who would be willing to do this.
OUR PLAN
One of our volunteers will get in touch with you and give you a card with their contact details. We hope you won’t need to use them; but if you do get sick with swine flu, keep the card safe and you can then call your ‘flu friend’ for help. They will collect medicines, food and other supplies for you so that you don’t have to leave home when you are ill.
